Will welcome anyone who comes to Kartarpur for religious purpose: Pak PM’s aide

Lahore (Pakistan), Oct 05 (ANI): Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s special advisor for Information and Broadcasting, Firdous Ashiq Awan, said whosever will come to Kartarpur on religious purpose, Pakistan will welcome them. “Pakistan feels that whosoever will come in Pakistan will be our guest. Our community is a welcoming community, said Awan. She further added Kartarpur is not a political issue but a religious matter. She made this statement while replying to a question whether Pakistan will welcome former prime minister Manmohan Singh at Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur? Last week, Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi announced that their government had extended an invitation to former Indian prime minister Manmohan Singh for the opening ceremony of Kartarpur corridor in Pakistan. However, Singh rejected the invitation but will be a part of the first ‘jatha’ (batch) of pilgrims to the Sikh shrine of Kartarpur Sahib across the border in Pakistan for 550th birth anniversary celebrations of Sikhism founder Guru Nanak Dev.
